I grew up in Plymouth, then studied Law at The University of Exeter. I did a four-year degree which allowed me to spend a year at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. At the end of my year abroad, I travelled around Australia, New Zealand and Thailand, and then headed back to Exeter to finish my degree, where I graduated with a First.
After graduating I spent four months in South East Asia, and then returned to study the accelerated LPC in Birmingham. Although I loved living in Birmingham during the six month course, it certainly confirmed that I had made the right choice by training in the South West!
I originally came across Michelmores through various University related events and fairs. Michelmores not only seemed approachable and friendly, but had prestigious clients and offered high quality work. I wanted to remain in the South West but be exposed to interesting and challenging work. The chance to be based in Devon, with the opportunity to do seats in Bristol and London was particularly appealing.
Despite only being at Michelmores for two months, I have already been involved with some really interesting work in the Education team. The highlight was attending a conference at the Eden Project, where I had the opportunity to network with existing and potential clients. Michelmores also ran a ‘buzz wire’ competition, with the winners getting to go on the zip-wire over the biomes – which meant I also got to have a go!
Michelmores are an active firm, so I have embraced this and am making the most out of the in-house gym. I have also joined the Michelmores’ netball team which is great fun and very social. I love being outside and going for coastal walks – I brave the water in the summer for a surf but it is certainly less appealing at this time of year!
