After a short break, Michelmores’ prestigious Property Awards are returning for 2023 and with a new summer date. The 2023 Awards mark 20 years of celebrating the best property, development and construction projects in the South West. This year’s ceremony will take place on Thursday 22 June at Sandy Park Conference Centre in Exeter and, as always, promises to be a celebratory evening that brings together all those who contribute to the region’s exciting property, real estate and construction sector.
Entries to the Awards, which have long-championed sustainability and innovation in the sector, are now open. The sustainable, social, environmental and economic values of a project sit at the heart of each category’s judging criteria and are considered just as important as its aesthetics and purpose.
The 10 categories in 2023 are:
- Project of the Year (under £5m)
- Project of the Year (over £5m)
- Education Project of the Year
- Leisure & Tourism Project of the Year
- Heritage Project of the Year
- Residential Project of the Year (35 homes & under)
- Residential Project of the year (36 homes & over)
- Masterplanning for the Future
- Building of the Year
- The John Laurence Special Contribution Award
Applicants are invited to submit projects that were completed during a longer than usual, two-year period, from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2022. Projects across Devon, Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly, Somerset (including North, Bath and North East), Dorset, Bristol, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire are eligible.
Of the launch of the Property Awards 2023, Emma Honey, head of Real Estate at Michelmores said:
The Michelmores Property Awards are making a welcome return after a short break and I am excited to see who will make the shortlist in our 10 categories. It has been 14 months since our last awards ceremony and in that time the Property team at Michelmores has continued to work with a large number of inspiring projects and clients. It is clear that the South West continues to be a heavy weight when it comes to innovation and ambition and we have seen exceptional projects that lead the way in sustainably in the real estate sector. I look forward to seeing these elements reflected in this year’s event. We will shortly be announcing our esteemed panel of judges for 2023 and introducing some new faces. Each of our judges brings invaluable expertise and dedicated experience to the selection process and we can’t thank them enough for contributing their valuable time.
The deadline for submission for this year’s Michelmores Property Awards is Friday, 17 February.
