Follaton Oak is a development of 60 homes in Totnes, with half of the properties designated as affordable housing or for sale under shared ownership in partnership with Westward Housing Group. A combination of contemporary and traditional materials, complementing the surrounding countryside, was incorporated into the design of all homes at Follaton Oak. The development offers impressive views towards Totnes Castle and Dartmoor National Park.
Origins in Dartington is a mixed-use development of 63 homes − 78% of which have been sold to local people, with 18 homes designated as affordable. The development has regenerated the area of Sawmills Field, creating new community space, cycle routes and footpaths. A species-rich wildflower meadow and new birch tree planting program are features of the development’s communal green space – helping to increase biodiversity in the local area.
The development at Trecerus Farm comprises 45 affordable and 22 open market houses around a central, generously sized open space and play area. The aim of the project was to create a distinctive, new neighbourhood with its own character – whilst using features such as chimney stacks to reflect the traditional Padstow ‘cottage’ style. The height of the buildings was carefully considered and limited to two-storeys, so as not to impose on surrounding areas.
Phase 1 of Wapping Wharf in Bristol has seen the transformation of previously derelict land to the south of Bristol’s historic Floating Harbour into a new, community-focused leisure and residential quarter. This phase consists of 194 residential units, including 26 affordable units and approximately 900 square metres of retail and leisure space. Wapping Warf also incorporates Gaol Ferry Steps, a new pedestrianised, tree-lined route which runs through the heart of the neighbourhood to connect South Bristol and the City Centre.
