Overview

I am an Associate in the Construction & Engineering team. Prior to joining Michelmores, I completed my training contract at a national law firm.

I advise on both contentious and non-contentious matters, ranging from adjudication, mediation, court proceedings and all other forms of construction dispute resolution, to the negotiation and drafting of several forms of building contracts, appointments, collateral warranties and bespoke project documentation.

I work across the Construction & Engineering team and alongside other teams across the firm, and I have advised clients in a wide range of sectors including renewable energy, healthcare, airports, social housing, internet service providers, public bodies, and offshore projects.

Outside of work, I have a keen interest in sports; you can find me in the gym, running around Bristol, playing tennis, or watching football and rugby. I am a fluent Spanish speaker, and I am currently learning Italian.

Recent experience

Acting for a major public body in a £13m claim relating to the negligent development and construction of a warehouse. Advising on complex court proceedings involving seven different expert disciplines, several sets of pleadings and a range of sensitive legal and procedural issues

Advised Voltalia, an international renewable energy company, on the drafting and negotiation of an EPC Contract for the development of a 34MW solar photovoltaic plant, as part of a £18.9 million funding deal with Triodos Bank

Acted for the successful party, a project co. of an asset management company, in an adjudication concerning provision of liquidated damages for a sum of circa £1m, settling a long-standing dispute arising from a social housing project in London

Advised project co. on a tripartite mediation and settlement documentation including drafting of settlement agreement and stay agreement

Advised the seller on the construction contract package concerning the £14.8m sale of Spring Business Park, Havant to a local authority pension fund

Provided advice to a major airport client on the due diligence, negotiation and drafting of an MF/1 Contract in relation to an airport expansion project

Acted for an internet service provider in adjudication enforcement proceedings of circa £400k value

Acted for an international cabling company on a dispute concerning defective cabling in a major offshore windfarm project. Advised on the scope of adjudication under the Construction Act 1996 and Letters of Response to the Claimant

Advised a major NHS Trust on the drafting and negotiation of consultant appointments for a redevelopment project relating to a hospital site in Paddington, London
