Solicitor – Admitted 2009
“We have worked with Lucy on a number of projects to date and have always been impressed with her professional attitude and friendly communication style. We look forward to working with her again in the future and would highly recommend her to other businesses.”
“Having worked for a number of companies with whom I am associated, and in relation to our personal property portfolio for the last 13 years proves the trust that these companies and I have put in Lucy’s professional expertise; grasping and understanding the transaction, drafting complicated break up contracts, negotiating with 3rd party legal teams, judgement and ability to get things done within the timescale…and most importantly giving sound and thought out advice.”
Overview
I am a Senior Associate in the Transactional Real Estate team at Michelmores. I advise a broad spectrum of clients on a wide range of commercial real estate matters, with a particular focus on investment and corporate occupier work.
I have extensive experience in Landlord and Tenant matters acting for investors on all aspects of asset management work, as well as tenants taking new office or retail space. I frequently deal with complex freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, on both conditional and unconditional bases.
In addition, I undertake the following work:
- acting on mixed use acquisitions, understanding the importance and inter-play between both residential and commercial elements;
- work involving residential leasehold development schemes including the establishment and transfer to management companies;
- acting for landed estates. I have an appreciation of the challenges faced with regard to maintaining income streams, diversification, and the day-to-day matters encountered with extensive rural land holdings; and
- dealing with the property aspects of corporate support work / the sale and purchases of businesses.
I also have specialist knowledge of charity law and the additional complexities involved when dealing with property owned by, or being disposed of to, charities – including exempt educational institutions and non-exempt charities.
My client base includes private investors, higher and further education institutions, a well-known hotel group, pension funds, a large animal food producer, and various national retailers, charities and companies. I thrive on building long-term relationships with clients and playing a positive role in the development and adaptation of their businesses.
Having been with the Firm for over 15 years, I have witnessed many changes at Michelmores, from becoming paperless to the more recent changes associated with agile working. There has always been a great commitment to the needs of clients but also on development of staff, which makes for a happy, collaborative and supportive working environment.
