Overview
I am a Partner in Michelmores’ Planning and Environmental team. I deal with all aspects of both Planning and Environmental law, acting for a wide range of clients, including developers, landed estates and other landowners, other private individuals, trusts, not for profit organisations and corporate entities.
In relation to planning matters, my work includes negotiating complex planning agreements, advising on planning applications and appeals (including providing advice on EIA and CIL), submitting Judicial Review and other Court challenges, acting in enforcement cases, advising on historic buildings and landed estate/agricultural matters, assisting clients with permitted development and other rights and acting on compulsory purchase/DCO schemes. The above are in relation to large-scale housing and other developments, energy matters (including renewables and hydrocarbons), data centres, arboricultural, wildlife, biodiversity, sustainability and conservation issues, landed estates and farms, hotel and leisure operations, care homes and infrastructure projects such as Crossrail. I also advise on planning issues arising in corporate and financing transactions and property purchases and sales.
On the environmental side, I advise on contaminated land, environmental liability and other issues arising in property and corporate transactions and on asbestos and other potentially harmful substances.
I am ranked in Band 3 for Planning by independent legal guide Chambers. I am also a recommended lawyer for Agriculture & Estates by the Legal 500.
I am a member of the City of London Planning and Environmental Law Committee.
I joined the Michelmores Planning and Environmental team in April 2022, having worked previously at Slaughter and May and then Charles Russell/Charles Russell Speechlys
