Client

I am a Senior Associate within Michelmores’ Real Estate team, specialising in Property Litigation.

My services span a wide range of property and land related issues. I support individuals, companies, trusts, executors and local authorities with resolving their real estate disputes.

I have gained a wealth of experience in helping my clients to navigate through the ever-evolving litigation processes, from providing initial advice, to taking pre-action steps, all the way through to representing clients at trials in the County Courts and Tribunals, or where required, to Appeals and Second Appeals. I also have extensive experience in managing costs disputes via the detailed assessment process.

However, whilst my experience covers helping my clients to manage the litigation procedure, I am a strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution methods. I seek to introduce those methods to my clients as early as possible, and throughout their matter, with a focus upon securing early and impactful, time, cost and objective focused solutions.

My services include (but are not limited to):

  • Land disputes – including boundary disputes, easements, covenants, adverse possession, prescription claims, vesting orders, rectification, estoppel, drainage and sewerage facilities
  • Landlord and Tenant – Commercial – forfeiture, possession, high value debt recovery, lease renewals, dilapidations
  • Landlord and Tenant – Residential – Owner Occupier (including complex management, consultation, service charges, reasonableness disputes, first refusals, right to manage, appointing managers, renewals). Private Rented Sector Residential (including possession, HMO, Statutory Compliance)
  • Environmental Protection Act Orders
  • Claims over property by co-owners (TOLATA)
  • Trespass claims (including interference)

As to my background, I qualified at a firm in North Devon in 2011, having trained in North Devon but with an interim placement in London. I returned to North London in 2013 where my property litigation experience began. I continued to build upon my litigation practice over the next six years before relocating to a firm in South Devon in 2019. I continued my property litigation practice at that firm for a further five years, after which I was delighted to join and continue my practice at Michelmores from August 2024.
