I joined Michelmores in 2006 and I am currently a Senior Paralegal in the Trusts Tax and Succession Team and Mental Capacity Team. I primarily assist with deputyship applications to the Office of the Public Guardian and the financial management of my clients’ general affairs under registered Lasting Powers of Attorney. I am fortunate that my role allows me to make a real difference to my elderly clients in particular, where immediate family members may not always live locally to their loved ones.
Providing care and support at home for my elderly clients during my time with Michelmores has enabled me to build a strong reputable portfolio of care providers. I am passionate about providing the best for my clients and through my knowledge and expertise within the care community as a whole, I am able to provide many services that greatly benefit my clients on a day to day basis. These range from liaising with occupational therapists, consultants in old age psychiatry, care teams and family members of clients to maximise the comfort and wellbeing of all my clients.
In addition to my management of affairs role, I also assist with the administration of trusts dealing with enquiries from beneficiaries, liaising with investment managers and regularly attending trustees’ meetings.
Supporting elderly clients by putting in place bespoke care packages, sometimes at very short notice
Advising on general management of affairs and liaising with attorneys to enhance my clients’ daily routine
Assisting with the drafting of deputyship applications to the Office of the Public Guardian
Acting as clerk to the trustees for the Exeter Episcopal Schools Trust, a charitable trust
Collating financial information on behalf of my clients to assist with their annual tax affairs and working closely with our in house tax team
