Fiona is Deputy Head of the Risk & Compliance team and advises the Firm on risk strategy together with its risk and regulatory compliance obligations.

Fiona has extensive experience in professional risks having acted for professional indemnity insurers and solicitors in the defence of professional negligence claims for many years. She has subsequently acted for clients in claims against a wide range of professionals. Fiona is a named lawyer in Legal 500 for professional negligence.

She also advises on insurance coverage issues, particularly those arising from professional indemnity, Directors & Officers liability and business interruption policies.

Recent Experience

  • Representing a national clothing company in a professional negligence claim against its former solicitors in relation to complex tax issues.
  • Acting for an events company on insurance coverage and a related professional negligence claim arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Advising a number of clients, including a chain of hotels, sports hospitality and travel businesses, and wedding venues on business interruption insurance cover, and regulatory issues arising out of the impact of the pandemic.
