Michelmores signs up to the Mindful Business Charter in support of better mental health and wellbeing

Michelmores has signed up to the Mindful Business Charter, adopting the Charter’s pledge to change avoidable working practices that can affect people’s mental health and wellbeing.

The Mindful Business Charter aims to remove unnecessary sources of workplace stress and to promote wellbeing, and good mental health within the legal community.

The Charter provides organisations with set principles to support employees in changing the way they work to help manage workplace stress. The approach is realistic, recognising that the removal of unnecessary workplace stress does not happen overnight, but as a professional community, firms have a responsibility to try and do things differently.

Michelmores’ Managing Partner, Tim Richards, commented:

“As a law firm, our people are at the heart of our success, so it’s important that we find ways to take a positive approach to our employees’ wellbeing.

I want to create a culture where we invest in the mental wellbeing of our colleagues, and a workplace where it is okay to start a conversation about how you are feeling. For that reason, we have signed up to the Mindful Business Charter – alongside banks and other law firms including Lloyds Banking Group, NatWest, Pinsent Masons, Addleshaw Goddard, Clifford Chance and Hogan Lovells.

I am also delighted that we have launched Mental Welllbeing@Michelmores as part of our commitment to creating a culture of positive mental wellbeing at the Firm”.
