Michelmores ‘MM5k’ Charity Run, the results!

The annual Michelmores 5k Charity Run took place on Thursday 6 September in Exeter city centre.

The event, now in its 19th year, had over 1000 people sign up from local businesses, running clubs and organisations. This year the runners were fundraising for Michelmores’ local charity, The Amber Foundation. Amber supports young homeless people to get back on their feet by teaching them valuable life and vocational skills, and providing much needed accommodation during difficult times.

Louise Edwards, Marketing Director at Michelmores said:

‘Once again we had a fantastic turnout for runners and it’s great to see so many people come together for such a worthwhile charity like Amber. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!’

Rebecca Fry from The Amber Foundation, said of event:

‘We were completely blown away by MM5K and would like to thank everyone who came and supported the event. The money raised is extremely important to Amber as it will help us continue our vital work supporting homeless and unemployed young people to transform their lives and move on to bright independent futures.’

The five-kilometre route took in many of Exeter’s historic landmarks including Exeter Castle and Southernhay Gardens, before ending on the iconic Cathedral Green.
