Education team successfully transfers Moundwood Academy to the Beckmead Trust

The Education team has successfully completed the transfer of Moundwood Academy (formerly known as Aspire Academy) to the Beckmead Trust. The Academy, which provides an alternative education setting for students who've been excluded from school is now known as The Beckmead Moundwood Academy. The transfer follows close collaboration and working over the last few months with the central team and trustees at the Trust.

Of the transfer, Dr Jonty Clark OBE, CEO of The Beckmead Trust said:

"the Trust has already made good progress at Moundwood and looks forward to continuing that so that the students receive the highest quality education and support possible".

Moundwood Academy has been receiving support from the Beckmead Trust since September 2019. It benefits from the Trust's experience and specialism in helping children and young adults who've suffered trauma and with those with social, emotional and mental health issues.

Bethan Jones, in the Michelmores' Education team said:

"We are delighted that the transfer has gone through so that Beckmead can continue its journey to support some of the most vulnerable children in the country. Michelmores looks forward to continuing its support of the Trust and its work with all the establishments that form the Beckmead family."
