We understand that purchasing a property, whether as a first-time buyer or making your next step on the property ladder can be daunting and we aim to provide concise guidance at every stage of the process.
Ordinarily, we would estimate a transaction to take approximately 8-10 weeks to reach an exchange of contracts, however, there are a number of third parties such as Sellers, other parties in a chain, mortgage lenders, search providers and HM Land Registry which may require involvement, sometimes contributing to an alteration in these timescales.
As a result of the above it can be difficult to set clear timescales at the outset of a transaction but with frequent and prompt communication we aim to remove some of the issues created by this lack of certainty and to move matters forward as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The step by step guide to a purchase transaction below provides an overview of what to expect, you can find our Conveyancing Guide to Buying a Property here.
Gemma Gilbert & the conveyancing team at Michelmores guided us through our property purchase with patience, tenacity and total professionalism. She responded swiftly to all our questions, never left us in the dark and was always approachable. Would not hesitate to recommend her and Michelmores as the go-to team.
