Michelmores has been recognised for excellence in equality and inclusion and learning and development in the 2019 HR in Law Award nominations. HR in Law is an organisation for HR professionals working in the legal sector and members include over 120 law firms across the country.
In the category of Equality and Inclusion, the Firm has been recognised for its Women @ Michelmores campaign, which was launched two years ago with the aim of achieving true gender balance across the Firm. Through Women @ Michelmores, the Firm is proactively raising awareness internally of the potential barriers to progression for women and is taking active steps to address these. Over the past year, this has included a number of Firm-wide initiatives, such as the roll out of agile working across the Firm, increasing family leave pay and encouraging the uptake of Shared Parental Leave.
The Firm’s shortlisting for Excellence in Learning and Development follows the roll out of two strategic development programmes designed to fuel performance. Both programmes have encompassed a range of creative and innovative experiences and resources, aimed at fostering collaboration and peer-to-peer learning. The programmes will continue over the next 12-18 months, but we have already seen tangible results, including a significant increase in our Best Company score for Leadership.
Colette Stevens, HR Director:
“We are delighted to have been recognised for our accomplishments in both equality and inclusion and learning and development. We have committed significant time and resource to both these areas over the past few years and are really proud of the difference these initiatives have made to our business so far.”
