A charity art auction hosted by Michelmores LLP on Friday 17 October 2014, has raised a grand total of £10,000 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The ART4MACMILLAN event featured 50 original pieces donated by well-known artists from Devon, Cornwall and beyond, transforming Michelmores’ Pynes Hill offices into a pop-up saleroom for the evening.
All 50 lots − many of which were inspired by iconic Westcountry locations, were successfully sold during the lively auction, conducted by fine art auctioneers and valuers Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood.
In addition to the art available to purchase on the night, was a display of sculptures by the prominent artist, Heather Jansch, best-known for her bronze and driftwood horses.
All the money raised will go straight to Macmillan Cancer Support, Michelmores’ Charity of the Year, to help provide a range of services to people affected by cancer in Devon and across the UK.
Michelmores’ Senior Partner, Will Michelmore, commented:
“The ART4MACMILLAN auction was a great success. There was a wide range of very impressive art on offer and we are delighted to have raised over £10,000, which will help to make a real difference to people affected by cancer. Thank you to all the guests who came along to show their support, and in particular, to all the artists who so generously donated their work.”
ART4MACMILLAN is the latest in a series of fundraising events hosted by Michelmores, as part of its partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, which has raised in excess of £30,000 so far this year.
