UPDATE: Collectively over 150 Michelmores staff covered a whopping 12,579.53 miles during the month-long challenge, that’s over 33 round-trips between the Firm’s four offices. We have also raised £1,181 miles for the Charlie Waller Trust – please see further details below on how to donate
Over 150 Michelmores staff have challenged themselves to collectively walk, run or cycle over 4,000 miles (6,437 kilometres) over the next 28 days to promote getting active to help wellbeing and to raise money for the firm’s Nominated Charity, the Charlie Waller Trust which provides education, training and support on the importance of mental health and wellbeing and how to look after it.
At Michelmores we recognise the effect the Coronavirus pandemic has had on the mental health and wellbeing of our staff. From our discussions with The Charlie Waller Trust, we also understand the importance of including physical activity as part of a series of lifestyle choices and tweaks that can be made to help look after and protect our physical and, crucially, mental wellbeing.
The challenge therefore came about partly to encourage staff to look after their physical and mental health and partly as an opportunity to continue to support The Charlie Waller Trust whose role in society could not be more important during the current times.
The Michelmores team will be aiming to walk, run or cycle the equivalent of 11 round-trips between the firm’s four offices (Exeter, London, Bristol and Sidmouth).
Any sponsorship that you can provide will help motivate our staff to reach the target miles and, importantly, will help The Charlie Waller Trust to continue with its great and much needed work. As an added incentive, all donations received will be matched by Michelmores. We will regularly update our fundraising page with reports and pictures showing how our team is getting on with the challenge.
