The Michelmores Graduate Recruitment team hosted an A-Level Open Evening in Exeter for students from local schools and colleges.
The aim of the event, which ran for the first time this year, was to provide students interested in law with the opportunity to find out more about careers in the field, as well as meet Trainee Solicitors and Graduate Recruiters first-hand, and learn some valuable skills for the workplace.
As a Firm, Michelmores is committed to widening access into the legal profession – supporting individuals who may not otherwise have the opportunity to gain an insight into the legal field.
Gabby Essame, HR Advisor for Graduate Recruitment at Michelmores commented:
“It was great to welcome so many talented students from local schools and colleges to our Open Evening.
“The Firm has made a number of important changes to our graduate recruitment and work experience programme over the last year, aiming to increase the diversity of our applicants and manage unconscious bias. Part of this has included partnering with Aspiring Solicitors, an organisation created to promote and encourage diversity in the legal profession.
“We hope the students had a valuable and enjoyable evening! We look forward to staying in touch with them.”
As a result of the positive feedback received from the schools and students, the Firm intend to run the event again in December 2018.
