The Michelmores’ Prize for second year Law with Business students at the University of Exeter’s Penryn Campus in Cornwall recognises the student or students demonstrating the best commercial awareness during their second-year studies. The winner for the 2020/21 academic year has recently been announced.
Dr Caroline Keenan, Director of Education for the Law School, Cornwall said:
“We are delighted to confirm that this year’s prize winner is Oliver Ward, who was selected by the Programme Directors from both the Business School and the Law School as someone who had consistently demonstrated outstanding commercial awareness skills in both assessed and class work throughout the year, achieving the highest marks in all Business and Law subjects.”
Tim Richards, managing partner at Michelmores said:
“Congratulations to Oliver on receiving the Michelmores’ award for commercial awareness. I was delighted to launch the award last year to encourage students at the University of Exeter’s Cornwall campus to develop their knowledge in this area. A thorough understanding of the business landscape is a vital skill for Law graduates and something we particularly look for in our trainees.”
On receiving the news of the award, Oliver said:
“I am extremely delighted to receive the Michelmores’ Commercial Awareness Prize for 2021. I would like to thank Michelmores for the award and for their recognition. I would also like to express my thanks to the Penryn Law and Business Schools, particularly my lecturers and peers, for helping me develop this crucial skill due to their constant guidance and support throughout my time at university.”
