Now in their 13th year, Damar Training’s annual apprenticeship awards recognise organisations that support apprentices in the workplace.
Damar is one of the country’s leading providers of apprenticeships and, over the past year, has worked with over 2,000 apprentices at more than 500 employers nationwide.
Michelmores’ has implemented a comprehensive apprenticeship programme designed to help individuals develop their business skills and experience while completing formal training and studying towards a qualification. The opportunities cover both potential careers as a lawyer, or within a specialist support function like finance, IT or marketing, and are designed to help develop skills for life in the workplace.
Colette Stevens, Director of HR at Michelmores commented:
“We are delighted to have been awarded Newcomer Employer of the Year for our work with apprentices. We are always looking for new ways to develop skills across our organisation, and are incredibly proud of what our apprentices have achieved, This award is fantastic recognition of their skills and talents”.”
Jonathan Bourne, Damar’s Managing Director commented:
“The standard of this year’s nominations was exceptionally high. The winners and nominees tell inspirational stories of apprentices who are learning, progressing and taking on additional responsibility at work. Organisations are enriched by enthusiastic new talent and supervisors are finding that working with apprentices is helping them to develop new skills. Many congratulations to our winners and my thanks to all of our partner employers and Damar colleagues who have made such a difference to individuals and organisations over the past year ”.
