At the end of October 2020, we bid farewell to Andrew Maynard, who has decided to retire. Andrew’s remarkable career with Michelmores has spanned almost 60 years, and we are extremely grateful for his great contribution to the Firm, both professionally and personally.
Andrew joined Michelmores in March 1963 as an Articled Clerk. After five years, he qualified as a Solicitor, progressing to the role of Partner aged 25.
Andrew was a key driver behind the rapid growth of Michelmores’ commercial property practice from the 1970s, which was instrumental in supporting the Firm’s expansion into a full service firm in the years to follow. He also introduced some of Firm’s innovative new ventures over the years, including the Michelmores Property Awards, our annual Michelmores 5k Charity Run, and the Annual Yacht Race in Torbay, which became the largest business race in the South of England for a decade.
Andrew was the Firm’s Senior Partner for 10 years from 1990, before taking on the role of Marketing Director and subsequently, Director of Client Service.
Tim Richards, Managing Partner at Michelmores said:
“Andrew has been an integral part of Michelmores’ ongoing evolution – he has displayed an unwavering commitment to the Firm, which I don’t think will ever be matched. He has fostered some of the Firm’s most important client relationships over the years and is hugely respected and well-known in the business community. Andrew will be greatly missed by us all and we wish him all the very best in his retirement.”
