Michelmores’ Corporate team has advised leading sling manufacturer Silvalea Ltd and its sister company D-ansermed, on its upcoming sale to Savaria Corporation, for a value of £4.6m.
Established in 1993 and based in Newton Abbott, UK, Silvalea is a leading manufacturer of patient transfer slings and accessories. The company specialises in the design and development of challenging and complex patient transfer solutions.
Silvalea will be acquired by Savaria Corporation, based in Quebec, Canada, with the aim of leveraging Silvalea’s sling manufacturing know-how and to accelerate the production of custom slings to serve the US and Canadian markets.
The Michelmores Team advising Silvalea was led by Samantha Billingham, supported by David Thompson.
Commenting on the deal, Samantha Billingham said:

The company has a huge amount of specialist knowledge in sling manufacturing and I look forward to seeing the business continue to innovate and extend its brand into wider markets internationally.”
The transaction is due to close in early July 2019 and the key management team at Silvalea will remain in place.
