Michelmores has advised the board and shareholders of market-leading investment management consultancy Knadel Limited, in the sale to Catalyst Development, an award-winning specialist financial markets consultancy. This transaction marks the first in a series of planned strategic acquisitions by Catalyst and follows the investment from mid-market private equity firm Livingbridge in October 2017.
With offices in London and Jersey, Knadel is a market-leading investment management consultancy, providing business and technology consulting across the full range of the investment industry.
The Michelmores team was headed by corporate finance partner Ian Binnie and lead corporate associate Harry Trick with support from, amongst others, Rachael Lloyd (employment) and Rav Sagar (corporate).
Michelmores’ involvement in this matter reflects the firm’s focus and extensive experience acting on transactions in the finance and investment sector.
Mark Speller, Partner at Opus Corporate Finance, corporate finance advisers to the selling shareholders, commented:
“The team at Michelmores played a key role in getting this deal across the line on a timely basis, particularly given the significant complexity involved.”
Commenting on the deal, Paul Miller, Founding Managing Director at Knadel said:
“Joining Catalyst makes perfect sense for Knadel; our skills, experience and culture are very complementary. Bringing together two specialist teams will allow us to extend our capabilities into new markets and provide additional services to our many clients.”
