The Exeter-based nursery brand is a global business, with offices in the UK, Australia and China. Established in 2000, with an innovative idea to help parents with sleepless infants, the Gro Company has quickly grown to become an award-winning supplier of safer sleeping solutions for babies and young children.
Mayborn Group, maker of Tommee Tippee, the most popular baby feeding bottle brand in the UK, was acquired by Chinese cosmetic maker, Shanghai Jahwa Group, last year and operates as a subsidiary of the company.
Stephen Morse, Michelmores Partner, said:
“Gro company is a fantastic South West business success story. We supported the management in their buy-out in 2013, and are delighted to have advised them in their sale to Mayborn Group. There is a natural affinity with both companies, in helping make parents and their children’s lives better, and we are excited for the future of both companies.”
David Gough, COO of Gro Company, commented:
“The Corporate team at Michelmores was an integral part of the success of this deal: their understanding of our company, and the proactive advice and support they provided, ensured we had the best outcome. We are delighted that Mayborn Group has recognised the quality of our business, the strong brand and customer base that has been built over the last seventeen years.”
