Michelmores advises ecological consultancy Avian Ecology on sale to Origin Enterprises

Michelmores has advised the shareholders of Avian Ecology Ltd, a specialist ecological consultancy working throughout the UK, on its sale to Origin Enterprises plc, a Dublin-based agronomy services firm. Hazlewoods acted alongside Michelmores providing corporate finance support.

Avian Ecology specialises in the areas of ornithology and renewable energy consenting, as well as providing a range of other services, led by skilled ecologists from offices in Cheshire and Stirlingshire.

Origin Enterprises is an international agronomy services group with a revenue of €2.46bn, providing specialist advice, inputs, services and digital solutions to promote sustainable land use.

Avian Ecology will join Origin’s ‘Living Landscapes’ division (previously known as Amenity, Environmental, and Ecology) led by TJ Kelly, further strengthening the firm’s expertise in ornithology, renewable energy, and terrestrial and freshwater ecology across the UK.

The Michelmores team working on the deal was led by Corporate Partner Adam Kean, alongside Corporate Associate Ben Adams and Solicitor Harry Jones.

Adam Kean comments:

We are pleased to have worked with Avian Ecology on its sale to Origin Enterprises, bringing this transaction to a successful, mutually beneficial completion. Avian’s expertise will complement Origin’s businesses, helping them to deliver even more impactful solutions in the environmental and development sectors.”

Howard Fearn comments:

“Thank you to Adam and the team at Michelmores and James Whittaker at Hazlewoods for providing a seamless experience and guiding us through this important transaction for the company and its shareholders.  Michelmores service was balanced perfectly between diligence and sound commercial advice and their knowledge of this sector”.
