Agile Working for Business Services
In October 2021, we introduced the Michelmores Agile Working 12-Month Pilot Scheme. Pre-pandemic, we’d already been committed to more agile working practices.
Our belief in a more flexible approach was the driving force behind the development of the pilot. The aim is to enable our people to find the right blend of working in the office(s) and working remotely. By which we mean the best mix to meet the needs of their clients, their colleagues and themselves. Team members and leaders work together to come up with the best solution.
Remote working by necessity and by choice
The 2020 lockdowns turned the spotlight on the issue of working remotely. Many here were trying it for the first time and, despite the dreadful circumstances that had led to it, really enjoyed the experience.
The technical challenges were considerable, but our IT team got out the ropes and crampons and brilliantly conquered the steepest of learning curves.
The people have spoken
In our staff survey, 87% of our people said flexibility – agile working – will be important to them in the future. 88% said it offers work-life balance benefits. With most believing it has clear environmental benefits. The ongoing feedback from colleagues will be used to determine how the Agile Working Pilot evolves over time.
