Michelmores has been ranked for the first time in the category of Partnership – UK-wide in the Chambers & Partners legal guide for 2018. The Firm joins one of only 22 firms ranked in this practice area in the UK.
The Firm’s work in farming partnerships has been particularly noted – with Vivienne Williams, Partner in the Agriculture team recognised as a Notable Practitioner in this field. Her experience is focused on general and limited partnerships and ranges from partnership formation, complex re-structuring, dissolutions and retirements to hard-fought contentious disputes between farming families. Contributors referred to the team’s excellent handling of rural matters in general and of farming partnerships in particular, with one commentator describing it as “the single most competent agricultural law firm in the country.”
Meanwhile, Samantha Billingham, Partner in the Corporate team has extensive experience in joint ventures and business reorganisations involving partnerships and LLPs. Specialising in advising professional practices, the team has advised across a range of sectors, including financial, accountancy and legal services.
The Firm’s Agriculture & Rural Affairs and Corporate/M&A teams have also retained their ‘top tier’ status in this year’s rankings.
Vivienne Williams said:
“We are very pleased to see the Firm ranked under Partnership – UK-wide for 2018. There are many advantages in operating as a business partnership or LLP, and many potential risks too. However, with our recognised expertise in this area, we are well-placed to look after our clients’ interests, protect their assets and ensure their partnership is prepared for any eventuality.”
The annual Chambers & Partners UK Guide independently ranks law firms and individuals, based on client interview feedback, research and firm submissions.
